New and Refurbished Bikes For Adults and Kids in Need

Wheels of Hope is a BikeAAA program that provides a fresh start to those in need in our local community. We support adults entering sober living housing to help secure a fresh start with career placement, educational advancements, and meeting/counseling requirements, adults reentering society from prison, at risk adolescents who completed program requirements, high school athletes with transportation barriers to making practices, as well as low income communities including children with English as a second language. We provide a helmet with each bike and other accessories as needed such as lights and locks for adults. Our mission is to provide community members in need with healthy transportation and recreation, protect our environment by reducing waste and to help those in need. The program is based at the Crownsville Hospital Memorial Park in space provided by our partner, Anne Arundel County Food Bank in Crownsville, MD.
In 2021 BikeAAA was selected as one of ten winners of the Park Tool 2021 Community Grant Program. BikeAAA was chosen from more than 300 applicants and received two new Park Tool Repair Stands, one Park Tool Professional Mechanic Tool Kit, five shop aprons and one Big Blue Book of Bike Repair. In addition, as the sole winner of the 2021 Park Tool President’s Choice Award, BikeAAA was awarded an additional $1,000 of Park Tool repair equipment and tools. “I more than appreciate what you have done for me. You brought youth back into my eyes….a feeling I haven’t had in such a long time buried under the false feelings that came with my drug addiction”
“Thank you so much for the bike!! It’s amazing and I’m glad there are people out there that are so kind and helpful to the needy! This bike reminded me of a long lost passion and will help me get to meetings and work. Much love!!”
